Image Signal Processing
Nethra has developed and implemented a number of core technologies into its image processors that enable cameras with rich features, high quality images and ease of use. The control loop includes auto exposure, auto white balance and auto focus. The camera settings adjust to the optimum position to enable high quality image capture without burden on the user.
The color processing blocks in the image processor are tuned to produce accurate and vivid colors in the image under a variety of lighting conditions including daylight, fluorescent and tungsten lights. To ensure the highest possible image quality, the image processing includes blocks to correct for defects and uneven responses in both the image sensor and the lens.
Our enhanced low light and adaptive light features provide wide dynamic range in the captured images even under very low-light conditions. The image processor contains an Electronic Image Stabilization feature that can remove jitters in the images caused by small hand movements on the camera. The image processor also includes the capability to detect red eye that typically appears in flash photography. All the image processing blocks in our hardware are tunable to ensure optimum performance with a variety of image sensors. Since all the image processing is performed by dedicated hardware, the result is an overall system with very high throughput.
